What is Restorative yoga?
Restorative Yoga restores and renews the body and mind. Poses are practiced while sitting or lying on the floor using supports and props like blankets, bolsters, blocks, chairs, eyebags, balls, sandbags, wall and straps to help ease the body into the posture. It is generally a relaxation style of yoga that stretches your muscles, strengthens them a little, releases bound fascia, and increases energetic and fluid circulation.

It has many benefits for both healthy and health challenged yogis. The more your body is supported in poses the deeper the sense of relaxation. With props it is easier for the body to get into certain poses, and thus, surrender to the pose. Practicing Restorative yoga poses is incredibly beneficial for overall health.

Restorative yoga is absolutely perfect for newcomers, and everyone at every level. No prior experience of yoga is required.

Restorative yoga, as well as other forms of yoga, helps to trigger the Parasympathetic Nervous System also known as the PNS. The PNS is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate, blood pressure; it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily.
